Art Scholarship: 2003

The Marblehead Festival of Arts is pleased to award the annual Arts Scholarship to Sara Beesley. A 2003 graduate of Marblehead High School, she will be attending Manhattanville College in New York and will major in Music Business/Management. She plans to continue playing music while being part of management in the music industry.
Sara was a self-taught guitarist until she began formal study in high school. She has attended the National Guitar Workshop in Connecticut for four summers and has taught guitar as one of her many jobs during her high school years. In addition to the Jazz Band, she has performed in school-sponsored concerts, theater, and open mic nights at clubs and coffee houses in the Greater Boston area. Sara recently performed on WBOQ’s morning radio show with Kendall Buhl.
Sara’s Guidance Counselor, Amy Mahaney, speaks highly of Sarah’s independence, dependability, maturity, and impressive community service efforts, as well as her commitment to a challenging college preparatory curriculum. The Festival welcomes Sara to the family and wishes her great success in her artistic pursuits.
