Rock
The Eleven Project brings us a sound crafted from many of their musical influences like U2 and Collective Soul, textured with their own unique twist. The heart of the band, Marblehead’s Chad Macomber, and lead vocalist, Dylan Duncan, a Chester, Vermont resident, met while attending the Ringling School of Art and Design in 1999-2003. Since then, they’ve played the local music scene and written over 100 songs, twelve of which can be found on their album, Detour. Chad Macomber’s artistic efforts have also been seen over the years through many submissions to the Festival, including the selection of his design as the 2003 Marblehead Festival of Arts Logo winner! As Ed Sullivan would say “Now here’s something for the youngsters...” Send along the (teen) kids to see the The Eleven Project performing cool melodic music with poetic and inspirational lyrics!

Flamenco Guitarist
Steven Spungin received a Bachelor of Music degree with high honors from the renowned jazz college, Berklee College of Music in 1991. His musical journey has taken him to Europe and three tours throughout the Eastern United States. He has performed at the Great Woods Center for Performing Arts and has traveled to the international music festival, ‘MarÈ de Augoste’ in Portugal. Steven has studied guitar with legends Pat Metheny, Michael Hedges, and Pierre Bensusan. He currently lives in Marblehead, where he performs and teaches. His style is based in Flamenco, and has hints of Western European Classical, Celtic, South American, Cuban, Mexican, and Middle Eastern influences. In addition to his eclectic tastes, he is also a master improvisationalist and a virtuoso guitarist. His performances are articulate and sensitive. To hear Steven perform is a real treat. His performances are a perfect balance between the head and the heart, combining the spontaneity of jazz, the technique of classical, the melodies of international folk, and the rhythms of dance. We encourage you to take advantage of the opportunity to see this gifted local performer!

Jazz Rock
Take jazz-influenced chord progressions, add in a tight rhythm section, melodic soloing, two-part vocals, and what do you get? Jammy Rock Fusion? Jazzy Roadhouse Funk? Montana’s music may be difficult to classify, but it’s easy to identify. Their debut CD spans from gritty solos to mellow acoustic numbers and hitting everything in between. Formerly known as “Furious George,” the quartet featuring Sam Beebe on bass and vocals, Brian Bowen on guitar and vocals, Ben Breed on percussion and Jordan Gravel on keyboards, has developed a unique sound that has earned them a strong following and the award for first prize in the Marblehead Family Fund 2002 Battle of the Bands. Performing together since August 2002, Montana grooves like a seasoned touring act.

Brazilian Samba
Striving as always to bring a diverse complement of musical styles, we’re excited to present an evening of Latin Rhythm and Dance to our little corner of the world! Kicking off our evening of World Music is Deborah Rocha and her band, Entre Amigos. This Boston-based group of international musicians have one thing in common: a deep love for Brazilian and Latin music. Entre Amigos is a loosely-structured group comprised of guitars, horns and percussion. Sometimes the percussion is even played on the guitars and horns. These musicians truly love to feel the beat! Entre Amigos plays classics from the Brazilian samba and bossa nova repertoire, tunes from other regions of the Americas and original tunes with a strong rhythmic feel. The one thing we promise when you’re listening to Entre Amigos is that you absolutely will not be able to sit still!
