Saturday, July 6, 2007
Abbot Hall Lower Grounds
Children’s Festival is a program of arts and activities directed toward children aged ten years and younger. All activities are free of charge and all children should be accompanied by a parent.
Chairpersons: Greg Triplett and Chele Silveira
Committee: Kathy Culkin, JM Dykes, Peter Martin, Sarah Murphy, Sandra Rhoads, Ryan Camarda, Carol Bento, Lisa Martin, Dee Rubano, Kachina Studer, Corie Rice, Mellisa Kornfeld, and Gayle Rozen
An inspiring afternoon of arts and smiles as the lower grounds of Abbot Hall are transformed into an open air studio of creativity where children and their families can create art and enjoy performances throughout the day.
  • Brush your Face: A new and exciting way to paint your face. Curious?
  • Blanket the Globe: Learn and share ideas about our environment by designing fabric squares for a community blanket.
  • Silk Screening: Learn the popular art of silk screening. A limited number of shirts are available; feel free to bring your own or purchase a 2007 Festival logo T-shirt at one of our Logo Stores.
  • Crafts: Colorful, festive streamers on a pole.
  • Photography: Capture the memory with a photo to go.
  • Drawing: Buttons, buttons, buttons—-be creative and design your own.
  • Painting the Town 2: With our “barrels of fun” the town’s trash has never looked so good! All ages are welcome to participate.
  • The Festival’s favorite Pied Piper, Stephen Baird and friends, entertain throughout the day.
