Theatre Festival
Unitarian Universalist Church, 28 Mugford Street
Chairpersons: Jim Butterfield, Jim Robinson, Bill Smalley
Committee: The Mugford Street Players
Theatre has always been an integral part of our culture, reflecting and expanding the experience of those who are a part of that culture. From primitive storytelling to the massive, expensive formal productions of the present day, theatre informs, teaches and profoundly affects us all.
At this year’s Festival, we are presenting a variety of plays and readings, some are as short as 10 minutes in length, none over 50 minutes. They are comedies, drama and original plays. Some of the plays will be presented in a staged reading format. Staged readings are plays read by actors with possibly some movement and interaction between the actors. There is little set and few, if any props; there is no stage lighting.
