The Logo Contest to select a logo for Festival 2010 was launched in early October, 2009. By the November 15 deadline, 98 entries from 51 artists had been received. Participating logo artists were Anthony Velleco, Barbara Raffertry, Cathy Hines, Charles Ferguson, Chris Hogan, Christopher Collera, Claudia Kaufman, Diana Hosley Burchfield, Dong Kyu Jung, Eliza Howells, Elizabeth Janisch, Ellie Tomlinson, Emma Oliver, Geoff Hodgkinson, Jake Coppola, Janee Rudolph, Janice DiMare, Jason Dube, Jeri Rabchenuk, Joanne M. Graham, Joe Schulte, Joel Guptill, Jose Gonzalez, Julia Miller, June Rhodes, Karen Ann Lorensen, Kathleen Stiles, Kelly Howells, Kirsten Bosworth, Laura Dignam, Louis Regilio, Marco Cerullo, Maria Bereket , Martha Quigley, Mary Herchenhahn, Matt Nicholas, Matthew P. A panel of three judges selected 18 semi-finalists, and from this group they selected four entries as finalists.

Beginning November 25 and extending through December 19, the public was invited to cast ballots to select the Festival’s next logo. Voting stations were set up at various locations in Marblehead, Swampscott, Lynn, Salem, and Beverly.

Logo Contest Winner
A total of 1,129 votes were cast, and the winner was announced at the Logo Premiere at The Landing Restaurant on January 26, 2010. The winning design, submitted by Steve Webster, received 346 votes; followed by Martha Quigley’s design, 319 votes; Claudia Kaufman’s design, 263 votes; and Louis Regilio’s design, 201 votes. All four finalist logo artists reside in Marblehead.

Steve Webster, a Marblehead graphic designer, previously won the 2006 Logo Contest. He joins a select group of three other logo artists with multiple winning designs: Geoffrey Hodgkinson, John D’Entremont, and George W.E. Price.
