Tom Conlon
Indie Acoustic Music/Folk/Traditional Hymns
Tom Conlon
Tom Conlon is truly a one-of-a-kind performer. Ethereal and timeless, Conlon weaves master guitar playing around a beautiful voice with depth of the soul, original songs, and sounds like original arrangements of eclectic covers.
Tom's latest project is Lonely for the Sun. This state of the art project was tracked, edited and mixed on Tom’s iPhone. As strange and gimmicky as that may sound, these songs are true to the struggle and love that attended their creation and the shape they took in the process—one that introduced both radical artistic limitation and great freedom. In the end, with some help from his friends, the result is a moody combination of up-to-the-minute technology and good old-fashioned live performance. A must-see, Tom Conlon delivers every ounce of his being, every time he performs, and brings us along on his journey, note by note. Performing with Tom today are some of the best local musicians around: Paul Phillips on percussion & chime piano, along with festival favorite vocalists Rachel Taylor and Rollyn Zoubek.
2:30–3:30 pm

Lead by timeless songwriter Dan King, KBMG generates a musical engine that can scream and purr with huge dynamic ranges of sound, song and lyric. KBMG's members are singer and guitarist King, along with guitarist David Brown (Billy Joel, Simon & Garfunkle), MFoA House drummer Dave Mattacks (McCartney, Page, Elton, Jethro Tull, Harrison) and Wolf Ginandes on bass (Parker Wheeler, The Lineman, Digney Figness). Their collective recordings and live experiences together over 10 years have grown into a friendship that the legendary Mattacks describes as, "not just four great musicians playing together, but a real band with a strong and moving sound.” It’s very clear seeing KBMG on stage that these guys truly enjoy being around one another and it shows in each performance. Their musical chemistry and warm friendship moves directly from the band to any audience lucky enough to catch a show, and stays with them long after the performance has ended. Joining KBMG tonight on vocals are Ann Marie and Renee Dupuis of the Bandit Kings. Our traditional 4th of July festivities kick off with KBMG...the sound of true American Music.
