Theatre Festival

Unitarian Universalist Church, 28 Mugford Street
Rebel Shakespeare Company.
Rebel Shakespeare
Theatre has always been an integral part of our culture, reflecting and expanding the experience of those who are a part of that culture. From primitive storytelling to the massive, expensive formal productions of the present day, theatre informs, teaches and profoundly affects us all.

WillPower!
The teens from Rebel Shakespeare performed some of Shakespeare's best loved scenes and monologues! Fresh back from performing overseas as part of Shakespeare's International Birthday Celebrations in England, these young actors explored the power of Shakespeare to uplift, to enlighten and even to simply entertain, with some of their very favorite passages. Appropriate for all ages.
Actors include Clare Dingle, Zoe Weems, Madeline Goldberg, David Allen, Emilie Soghomonian, Mia Formicella, Libby Tuttle, Jackson Martel, Dustin Ferzacca, Seth Finkelstein, Ross Magnant, Annie Tuttle, Maggie Busteed, Allison Kurpiel, Sophia Nardone, and Abby Dempster.
The Bird and the Two-Ton Weight
A play by Darcy Fowler
The Bird and the Two-Ton Weight juxtaposes two lives: the life of a young woman in 2008 trying to find her way and save her family after the sudden death of her mother, and the life of a young woman in 1988, during her semester abroad in London, before her death in the Pan Am 103 terrorist bombing. It is the story of what happens when these two lives collide through the discovery of a journal; it is a story about hope and possibility.
Actors include Madeline Goldberg, Seth Finkelstein, Henry MacLean, Emma MacLean, Jackson Martel, and Mia Formichella.
Past readings include the Cochrane Theatre (London, England), Lockerbie Academy (Lockerbie, Scotland); Primary Stages (New York City), Lubin House (New York City), Drama Bookshop (New York City), Ars Nova Out Loud series (New York City), and Bushwick Open Studios Art Festival (New York).
