During the auction, several artists will take the stage and produce pieces to be included in this year’s Art Auction.
Leighton O'Connor
For more than 25 years, Leighton O'Connor has been taking photographs. Born in Beverly and raised close to the coast, Leighton has a passion for photographing nautical scenes. He started his career in photography at the age of 16 with a camera and a schedule of the high school football team. Shortly afterwards, he worked in the industrial photography world where he shot everything from shoes to widgets (literally!).
In 1987, Leighton broke into the business of repping photographers with the launch of Leighton & Company, Inc. As his business continued to grow, he added illustrators to his roster of clients and then focused solely on illustration. Leighton also expanded his talent into the field of Web design and marketing with the creation of blueSWIRLS.com, which he still oversees.
Even though Leighton enjoyed great success in representing artists and creating effective marketing materials for his clients, his interest for photography never waned. In 2004, Leighton decided to return to his roots and focus on his career as a photographer. With a studio in the coastal city of Beverly, Leighton has the ability to create still images that capture the imagination of his audience. Camera in hand, Leighton is also eager to go on location to capture scenes and people in their natural surroundings. From studio photography to capturing luxury yachts under way, Leighton has the talent to create emotional images. In his spare time, Leighton can be found capturing tall ships under full sail along the coast, or children enjoying a game of soccer. And, over the years, he has built an extensive library of stock images. |
